"And then he gets to them looking for - he says, “Your kingdom come.” Now you know what it means - not a second coming. It's what his whole mission was about: preaching the good news of the kingdom. So every day, we are called to pray that the greatest news the world could ever hear, could ever see, could ever experience, to be set free from sin, to have real peace and real joy and real hope - God bring that!"

Today's reminder is from Jon Moffitt, Pastor of Grace Reformed Church in Spring Hill, TN.

Jesus first points to their relationship that is secured with the father. You can address him as the most intimate title: father - not God - father. It is in that relationship I want to remind you that the aim of your life is to glorify him and that his name might be praised. Because it's true: he is the most supreme, awesome God that ever existed. We want people to know that. Do you want to get in comparisons with God? Let me tell you about mine, what he did, has done, and will do. He then points to their hope and joy. As you glorify God, you will find that rest. And then he gets to them looking for - he says, “Your kingdom come.” Now you know what it means - not a second coming. It's what his whole mission was about: preaching the good news of the kingdom. So every day, we are called to pray that the greatest news the world could ever hear, could ever see, could ever experience, to be set free from sin, to have real peace and real joy and real hope - God bring that! May your kingdom come in my heart, and may it come in the church's heart, and may it come in a neighbor's heart. Lord, bring that. That prayer has a little bit more spice to it, doesn't it? I was praying that on my way here: “Father, how do I say this in such a way where people walk away and go, ‘I don't need the kingdom of this world anymore.’?” And when my heart wavers and my mind is gone, I'm going to repent, and I'm going to come back. As James says, but there's more grace. And I'm going to say, “Father, may your name be glorified in my life, and may your kingdom come. May I see this invisible kingdom in my own heart because I know it's there that you dwell.” You know that it's fascinating when Jesus says where two or three of you guys are gathered - what did he say? I'm there. The kingdom can be seen by kingdom people. I love when we gather on Sundays, and we gather during the week because he's there, and I speak it to you, and you speak it to me.
